BFREPA on the road…
The forthcoming roadshows are an important opportunity for us to engage with our members and to hear your views to help shape our priorities for the coming year and beyond. From a personal point of view, having just joined the organisation, it is a really good and timely opportunity to meet and greet as well as to listen.
I’m excited that we’ll also be joined by a representative from RSPCA Assured, who will share updates on the amended laying hen welfare standards first published in November 2023 and due to launch May 2025. They will share how they worked with producers and farming groups, including BFREPA, through dedicated working groups to address challenges while maintaining welfare goals, they will also provide an update on the support available to producers as they transition to the new standards.
With the ongoing AI outbreak, cage free, planning, IHT and the environment to name just a few there is plenty to talk about!
We have listened to member feedback from the last events, held two years ago in 2023, and have made some changes to locations and timings acting upon that feedback.
All of the meetings will follow the same timing - 6pm for a 6.30pm start followed by a meal at 8pm.
