Published on : 7 Nov 2024
The entry deadline for the Zoetis-NFU Poultry Trainee Award is fast approaching. The award provides a £1,000 training grant for the winner and all three finalists receive guest invites to the Egg and Poultry Industry Conference. The 2023 award winner Stephanie Pedrick, South West area manager for Hook2Sisters, is planning to use the grant for a course on nutrition, and both she and finalist Emily Green, of Crown Farms in Suffolk, will be attending the EPIC event next month.None of the finalists initially chose poultry as a career, and for the first time all finalists were female, reflecting the increasing number of females working in poultry and moving into management roles.Entries can be made by individuals, employers or training providers. On the entry form candidates provide information about their career to date and training undertaken, and comment on issues facing the industry and on their career aspirations. They can provide a video to support their entry. The judging panel from Zoetis and the NFU interview the finalists online to choose the winner, who will be announced at a presentation event in early 2025. Entry forms are obtained by contacting BHR Communications – email roger@bhrcommunications.co.uk, telephone Roger Ranson on 07803 086462 – or from your training provider.
